CJ Grisham Open Carry Texas founder arrested under controversial circumstances.

More examples of what I was talking about on the resources page. Here is an example of what most people consider “legitimate” source of news. And they report only half of the story.

While their title is not inaccurate, it paints a bias against the person in question. A more reasonable unbiased headline could have been: Open Carry Texas founder arrested for assaulting a police officer, court papers say.

Or how about this one: Open Carry Texas founder arrested. Reason for arrest under controversy.

Both of those headlines give enough info for the reader to want to read the story or move on. The goal of an article is to get them to read the story. That’s what the author Erika Esquivel wants.

So we know she is going to get more reactions if she just paints one side of the story, and she does. Terrible reporting, just terrible.

But at least this incident about Olmos Park and open carry is getting some media attention.

Retired First Sergeant and Counterintelligence special agent C.J. Grisham was booked into the Bexar County Jail and was later released on a $13,000 bond.He is being charged with assault on a peace officer, interference with deputies, obstructing passageway and resisting arrest. Grisham live streamed his arrest on Facebook. The live stream was later posted to YouTube.
