Two officers from the Calgary Police Service District 2 in  Rosscarrock spend around 20 minutes harassing and interrogating a person simply for filming in public. The auditor spends most of the time explaining why he’s not obliged to provide ID while the officer continues to argue that they have the right to ask and that they must explain their position because apparently it isn’t being understood.

This is a first amendment audit which failed, the cop kept making references to both “city property” and property of the transit agency, both which are public entities and owned by the public and paid for by the public so therefore in public property.

The female cops are sneaky in how they use their words but notice how the lead keeps talking about “just having a dialogue” but in reality, she is dying to interrogate this individual. If this encounter wasn’t recorded I’m not sure it would have gone the same way as it did. In the end, the cops cooperate with the auditor’s b-roll footage shot closing the video with an interesting finishing touch.
